Waldo's Egg Nog
Waldo's Egg Nog

As explained in our Chick Farm history, Waldo Chick was the last of the Chick family to live on our farm. Waldo was an excellent cook. This was one of his creations and always a holiday tradition at the farm.

12 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup bourbon
1 1/2 cups rum
2 quarts whole milk
2 cups whipping cream
1/2 tsp salt

Separate the eggs. In a large mixing bowl, beat yolks with sugar until smooth and lemon-colored. Mix in rum, bourbon, and milk. Transfer to punch bowl.

Beat the whipping cream until peaks form; transfer to another bowl. Clean the beater and mixing bowl. Beat the egg whites with the salt until peaks form. Alternate folding the cream and the egg whites into the egg yolk mixture until thoroughly combined. Egg nog will be quite foamy. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
